What’s the difference between capillary and venous testing?+
Capillary testing uses a small drop of blood collected at home with the RedDrop One device and is ideal for convenient monitoring of clinically validated markers. Venous testing uses a full phlebotomist draw in-clinic and is the reference standard for treatment decisions and panels that need larger volumes, such as full hormones, CBC and CMP.
How accurate is at-home capillary testing?+
For the markers included in our Basic and Premium panels, capillary testing is clinically validated and physician-reviewed. For diagnostic or treatment decisions requiring the highest accuracy or larger sample volumes, we recommend an in-clinic venous draw.
How does the RedDrop One device work?+
You collect a single small capillary sample, seal it in a stabilized cartridge and mail it back in the prepaid mailer. Our stabilization keeps the sample viable at room temperature during shipping. Results arrive in your premium visual report.
What sample does infectious-disease testing use?+
Most RT-PCR panels use a urine sample or a swab; some use blood. In fact, some tests need as little as a finger-prick of blood instead of a full tube.
Why is RT-PCR better than a rapid antigen or ELISA test?+
Real-Time PCR detects pathogens at the DNA/RNA level and is orders of magnitude more sensitive than ELISA — at about the same price — with the option to add antibiotic-resistance genes to guide therapy.
How much does testing cost?+
Every RT-PCR infectious-disease panel is a flat $100. At-home capillary kits are $99 (Basic) and $149 (Premium). In-clinic venous panels are quoted by panel. See our pricing page for details and wholesale rates.

Results are delivered in the GC Lab premium visual report — an at-a-glance health score, colour-coded ranges and plain-language guidance you can share with your physician or coach.
